We have started 2021 with a BANG! No less than 185 members joined our second annual meeting. We learned, discussed, shared opinions and experiences, but most importantly, created new bridges.
Thank you to everyone involved in making this an extremely successful and productive meeting.
But we still have many more news, ideas and calls to get you involved, so don’t stop reading here.

Call for Papers
MAGMA GliMR Special Issue
GliMR is a guest editor for the 2022 Special Issue of Magnetic Resonance Materials in Physics, Biology and Medicine (MAGMA), the official journal of the ESMRMB, entitled:
“Micro- to Macroscale Magnetic Resonance Imaging of Glioma”
The aim of this special issue is to promote research that focuses on advancing MRI to improve glioma imaging diagnostics. The deadline for manuscript submission is 30 June 2021, 23.59h. The complete call for papers can be found here.
We would like to encourage our members to submit their work, as the special issues of MAGMA reach a broad audience and are highly cited.
We are looking forward to your submissions.

WG3 is looking for a collaborator with web applications experience
For the creation of a platform to allow sharing research projects, WG3 searches people with experience in web applications.
For this project, they will work together with professional web developers, however, they search GliMR members with experience in both fields to help in the creation of the project specifications.

WG2 searches national guidelines and recommendations
On behalf of the Review 2 team, please send Tom Booth details of National guidelines/recommendations on glioma imaging during post treatment follow up.
If you are also aware of International guidelines/recommendations please send these too. We are collecting these in a Table in review 2. It will help GLiMR determine what guidelines/recommendations are needed”

GliMR THANKS YOU – Annual Meeting!
Our second Annual Meeting, virtually held on 3-5 February 2021, was a big success. 185 members joined, which made the meeting more interactive than ever. We hope many new research ideas were conceived and new collaborations were started!
We would like to remind all attendees that proceedings can be found in the e-mail with the meeting link, which they have received a few days before the meeting start from the congress bureau. Additionally, we thank our presenters who are willing to share their presentation held during the meeting. Make sure to take a look!
Finally, we would like to congratulate Patrick Tang with winning the GliMR Price for Best Project Presentation, which is the opportunity to perform an STSM. Also congratulations to the runner-ups: Gilbert Hangel and Klara Holikova. We will hear more about their work in the future.

OPEN BRAIN CONSENT
Congratulations to WG2 with the acceptance of
‘The Open Brain Consent: Informing research participants and obtaining consent to share brain imaging data’
This paper does not only discuss the history and future of OBC, but provides advises for informed consent and data sharing to be compliant with GDPR. Read more about it here.

Ruben Nechifor is ouw new STSM coordinator
With regret, Prof. Yelda Ozsunar is stepping down from the STSM coordinator position. We would like to thank Yelda for her time and the coordination of the STSM’s during the first grant period, and her expertise in the core leadership. Therefore, we welcome Dr. Ruben Nechifor to the Core Leadership as our new STSM coordinator.
Dr. Ruben E. Nechifor a researcher at The International Institute for the Advanced Studies of Psychotherapy and Applied Mental Health from Babeș-Bolyai University.
His background is in Biomedical Engineering, Neuroimaging and Medical Physics, and was a PostDoctoral Research Scientist at the University of New Brunswick, Canada and at the University of California Los Angeles – UCLA, USA.
The focus of his research includes MRI and Clinical MRI, brain tumor imaging, developing novel MRI biomarkers and improving MR image signature through pulse sequence development for MRI scanners. In addition, he is also interested in various fMRI/neuroscience research topics.
