Stakeholders

EIBALL

The European Imaging Biomarkers Alliance (EIBALL) is a subcommittee of the Research Committee of the European Society of Radiology (ESR) and is aimed at coordinating all ESR activities regarding imaging biomakers, in close collaboration with QIBA. On the topic of cancer, EIBALL works closely together with the EORTC to include radiologists in multicentre trials and to develop a biomarker inventory. For more information, take a look at the EIBALL web site.

GLASS

The Glioma Longitudinal AnalySiS (GLASS) Consortium is a global initiative that aims to systemically catalogue the temporal genetic and epigenetic changes in glioma. This is done by generating a genomic/molecular dataset of multiple resections on a large cohort of patients diagnosed with glioma across all three major diffuse glioma genomic subtypes: IDH wild-type, IDH-mutant, and IDH-mutant 1p/19q co-deletion. Its first major outcome describing longitudinal molecular trajectories of adult diffuse glioma was recently published in Nature (Barthel et al. Nature 2019;576:112-120). For more information, see the GLASS-consortium web site and position paper.

The IBTA

The International Brain Tumour Alliance (IBTA) is an international network, connecting brain tumour patient and carer groups around the world. By working alongside, and representing, members of their community (including researchers, clinicians, nurses, and health care professional), this network engages avocacy, raises awareness, and shares information. Each year, the IBTA publishes The IBTA’s Brain Tumour magazine, including interviews with healthcare and research specialists and information on new approaches for treatment, as well as stories from brain tumour patients. For more information, take a look at the IBTA website.
