Bárbara Abecassis
Bárbara is member of WG5 and responsible for our social media accounts Twitter and Instagram.
Bárbara is a PhD student at the Gorter Center of High Field MRI, at the Leiden University Medical Center, in The Netherlands. She has joined WG5 and has also been responsible in the past few months for the social medial dissemination of GliMR’s news.
In the upcoming years, Bárbara’s project aims to investigate the value of 7T MRI when imaging glioma tumours, with an especial interest in exploring metabolic markers. The first part of her project has been on technical optimisation mostly focusing on CEST and MRS techniques. “However, I’m looking forward for the clinical application part of my work, where I’ll be scanning glioma patients.” – Bárbara says. It’s a project within the Medical Delta consortium, where health care and clinical research questions meet technological solutions.
