GDPR compliant consent – WG2 needs your help

Share:

After the succesfull WG2 hackathon, the work group has developed a GDPR compliant consent form, and is inviting the participants of GliMR to translate and review this form.

Since 2018, data-sharing within the scientific community has become more complicated, due to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). This GDPR constrains personal data usage and sharing, from healthy volunteers and patients. Often, questions are raised on how to protect and share data for scientific purposes.

After the successfull WG2 hackathon in November, the work group has developed a GDPR compliant consent form, in collaboration with the Open Brain Consent. This consent form will allow sharing data within the GliMR COST Action, but might be used for sharing of neuro-imaging data in general. At this stage, this consent is ready to merge with the Open Brain Consent.

Currently, only an English version of this consent has been developed. As GliMR is an European network, connecting even with countries outside Europe, next aim is to translate this consent in all languages. Additionally, further feedback from all members, as well as from local Data Protection Officers is mandator, to assure the quality and legality of this document in all countries.

WG2 NEEDS YOUR HELP!

WG2 is looking for participants willing to:

  • review the GDPR compliant consent form
  • consult their local Data Protection Officer for feedback
  • translate the English form into their native language
  • sharing legacy data, as GDPR does not include data of deceased volunteers or patients
